How to start an AI voice conversation
- Open Voice Call and sign in if prompted. Check your account access and Sparks.
- Choose a character. Pick a familiar topic for your first conversation.
- Review call settings and microphone selection. Allow microphone access in your browser when you are ready to speak.
- Start the call and ask one short question. Leave a pause for the reply.
- Ask a follow-up question, then end the call using its end-call control.
Example: practise a follow-up question
Say: “Tell me about one decision you faced. Keep your answer short.”
Then ask: “What other choice could you have made, and why?”
Expected interaction: Spoken turn-taking with an AI character. The wording and quality of each answer will vary.
Before your first call
You need a working microphone, audio output, a supported browser, and an internet connection. Headphones can help reduce echo. If the microphone is unavailable, check browser permission and your selected input device before retrying.
AI voice sessions use Sparks. Available call options depend on account access and service availability. Review what the app shows before starting. This guide does not promise a free or unlimited call.
Voice conversation, rather than a voice recording
This workflow is for interactive learning, not a voice-cloning or audio-download tool. Historical voices are synthetic interpretations, not verified recordings of the real person. For a guided speaking task with corrections and mission goals, use the Language Lab.
